I've been a personal trainer for 30 years now.
I have studied and continue to study with some of the best coaches in this business, I have 3 degrees, several certifications and continue to teach group fitness classes and train clients today.
I have had a love of fitness since a teenager when I started as a girl who used to help a Jazzercise teacher get set up and break down her equipment (which consisted of HUGE speakers back then and some other components). Jazzercise is still around today, and I do remember that that was what sparked my interest in fitness, as well as The Firm videos.
The Firm videos back then were some of the best choreography in the industry at the time, and each VHS was $50 a piece!
I gladly saved my babysitting money and bought every single tape they had on the market. I knew every master instructor's name, background, hobbies etc.
I was hooked. I still have every single original VHS tape to this day.
They were my first introduction to lifting weights and lifting heavy. It was a really big deal because no one else was doing it at that time.
I aspire to continue to share that love and value of fitness today with everyone I meet. I don't believe there is any other way to live life.
I've spent 30 years as a personal trainer during which time I have learned key information about what people need to better their physical and mental health. Not only am I a personal trainer, I help with personal living, because it's never about the food.
I've been asked hundreds, if not thousands of questions and instead of trying to continue to answer these questions in the corner of a gym when asked, I've compiled the answers to such questions into this website so that you may be empowered with the information you need to get you started on your own healthy journey - TODAY!
Look, health and wellness is a confusing industry. It makes me angry to see people get duped because it chips away a little bit of their self trust each time they fail to get the results they seek. It's not themselves they shouldn't trust.
Altruism is not a character flaw. Stop blaming yourself.
It's the faulty method that's been sold to you that fails to deliver the results you seek. There are trinkets, fads, and trends that come and go.
Wouldn't you like to know what's going to send you in the right direction?
I don't blame you and I want that for you too.
If there were we would all look fantastic and obesity would not be one of the major leading health concerns.
Unfortunately, it's not just in America anymore. It's spreading to our neighboring countries.
It really doesn't have to be this way. Learn what you can on this site and begin to implement what you learn into your lifestyle one good, healthy habit at a time, then come back and learn more as I continue to add helpful information.
My advice for now?
When you add a good habit in, take a bad one away. You only fail if you stop trying. Learn the truth of what will finally get you on that road to your well being.
Even though by trade I am a personal fitness trainer, I have taken note that there are other things that contribute to our well being that share in our total health:
mindfulness, spirituality & joy
......other than the exercise piece of the puzzle.
I've enjoyed compiling them all into this website for you and I hope you find it helpful!
You know, life happens to all of us and we may get bogged down for a spell and when we get our feet back under us, we are ready to begin again.
Begin again by being better. Just be better. It doesn't have to happen all in one day.
You don't have to limit yourself to the first of the year.
Take baby steps now and just trust yourself to make your life better and healthier one choice at a time because you can!
You are worth it and YOU deserve it. Believe it!
